Firstly I'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. These photos were taken from the western side of Melbourne CBD. I had hoped to find a good vantage point around the Docklands area but hadn't counted on just how crowded it would be so that turned out to be a bust. Having pre-planned with Google Earth, plan "B" was to head further afield which turned out to be a great idea. Equipment used was a Canon 6D with Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 lens mounted on a tripod. ISO100, f2.8, 120mm and exposure of 1/2 second. Post processing was kept to a minimum and aside from the usual contrast, brightness, noise reduction etc. there's only some noise reduction and sharpening. The colours in the images are real and the differences are due to the fireworks.
